This case study describes the type of application work handled by IndoWorld and the preparation approach used, without disclosing personally identifying information or a specific visa decision.
At a Glance
The Applicant’s Situation
An applicant from India had recently changed jobs before planning a visit to the UK.
What the Assessment Identified
Older employment documents could no longer describe the current role, and the applicant needed to explain leave and return-to-work arrangements accurately.
Key Focus of This Case
Building the file around current employment evidence and a consistent timeline, rather than the documents from the previous employer.
What IndoWorld Actually Did
- Considered current employment, the joining date, leave approval where available, income evidence and trip timing together
- Used current records and explained the timeline
- Avoided exaggerating job security or tenure
- Left out documents that described the earlier role
Evidence and Documentation Considered
- Current employment records
- The joining date in the new role
- Leave approval, where available
- Income evidence and the timing of the trip
Where This Case Reached
The documents were organised and reviewed as described above. This representative case does not describe a decision; the decision on every UK visitor visa application rests with the Home Office.
What This Case Demonstrates
A recent job change calls for current, consistent evidence rather than reliance on outdated employer records. This case shows why the explanation should be as short and as accurate as the records allow. See the IndoWorld Refusal-to-Remedy Framework and the IndoWorld document logic guide for how document sets are checked against each other.
The main UK visitor visa page covers the full route, and the UK visitor visa documents required page lists the usual papers. IndoWorld gives an honest read of an application, including where the evidence looks weak, and does not promise an outcome.
What the official guidance says an applicant like this must show
This is general guidance drawn from official UK government sources for an applicant who has recently changed employer, applying for a Standard Visitor visa (the visitor / tourist visa). It does not describe the case above.
- The employer letter has named contents. The Home Office guide to supporting documents gives, as an example for circumstances at home, a letter from the employer on company headed paper detailing role, salary and length of employment; for proof of earnings it names start date of employment, salary, role and company contact details.
- Documents should back up the form. The caseworker guidance says supporting documents should back up the statements made on the application form, and that the reasons given for the visit should be credible and correspond to the applicant’s personal, family, social and economic background.
- Continuing income matters. The guidance says the caseworker considers the likely cost of the stay and any sources of revenue that will continue to be available to the applicant during the visit, and that income or savings minus financial commitments must cover the costs.
- New money is checked. Where funds are sufficient but most have not been held in the account for long, the caseworker may check the origin of the money, so a clear salary trail from the new role is useful.
- Outdated papers carry less weight. The guide lists bank statements or letters issued more than 1 year before the application among documents of less use, and the online application asks, depending on circumstances, for the employer’s address and telephone number and your yearly earnings.
- Not every recommended paper is compulsory. The caseworker guidance says not sending one of the recommended documents is not of itself a ground for refusal, and the guide notes its list is not exhaustive, so leave approval is shown where it exists and described honestly where it does not.

If your application was refused: what to look for in the letter
If an earlier UK application was refused around the time of a job change, read the opening sentence about paragraph V 4.2 of Appendix V (see that wording) and then the reason that follows it. Check whether the letter says you have not shown economic ties, speaks of a clear discrepancy between your documents and your stated circumstances, or concludes you are not a genuine visitor. Set each reason beside the employment papers that were actually sent. The wording guide draws its UK sentences from published tribunal decisions, and the UK visitor visa refusal reasons page explains the usual grounds.
Have a refusal letter in front of you? Clients email their documents, and the review takes place by video call, phone call or in person at the Vadodara office. There is no charge for the review of a refusal: IndoWorld experts read the letter and compare it with the application that was refused. You can start on the visitor / tourist visa refusal letter review page.
