What the Assessment Identified

The application needed to clarify which expenses the host would cover and what the applicant would fund personally.

FOCUS AREA

Key Focus of This Case

Making the funding plan clear and consistent across the invitation and the financial documents.

CASE-HANDLING WORK

What IndoWorld Actually Did

  • Reviewed the proposed itinerary, the host’s support, the applicant’s financial position and the evidence relevant to a temporary visit together
  • Made the funding plan clear and consistent across the invitation and the financial documents
  • Kept the host’s commitment separate from the applicant’s own means
  • Avoided presenting the same funds as belonging to both
EVIDENCE CONSIDERED

Evidence and Documentation Considered

  • The proposed itinerary
  • The host’s invitation and stated support
  • The applicant’s financial position
  • Evidence relevant to the temporary visit
PROCESS STAGE

Where This Case Reached

The documents were organised and reviewed as described above. This representative case does not describe a decision; the decision on every Visitor visa (subclass 600) application rests with the Department of Home Affairs.

WHAT THIS DEMONSTRATES

What This Case Demonstrates

Separate the host’s genuine commitment from the applicant’s own means and avoid presenting the same funds as belonging to both. This case shows why a funding plan should read the same in every document. See the IndoWorld Refusal-to-Remedy Framework and the family visa application preparation guide for how family-supported files are read.

The main Australia visitor visa page covers the full route, and the Australia visitor visa invitation letter page explains what a host’s letter usually covers. IndoWorld gives an honest read of an application, including where the evidence looks weak, and does not promise an outcome.

OFFICIAL GUIDANCE

What the official guidance says an applicant like this must show

This is general guidance drawn from the Department of Home Affairs for an applicant visiting a relative in Australia on a Visitor visa (subclass 600), the visitor / tourist visa for Australia. It does not describe the case above.

  • Visiting family is within the stream. The Home Affairs tourist stream page says the visa lets you visit family or friends, and that you must intend to come to Australia to visit only.
  • The host’s letter has named contents. The page says a letter from a relative or friend in Australia could state their relationship to you, the purpose of the visit and length of stay, and whether you will stay with them.
  • Proof of the host’s funds is asked for when they pay. It adds that if this person will be paying for your stay, you should provide proof of their funds.
  • The applicant’s own money is still part of the test. You must have, or have access to, enough money to support yourself while in Australia, and the page gives examples such as itemised personal bank statements for a 3 month period, pay slips and tax records.
  • Show your plans and reasons to return. The page lists your plans while in Australia and proof of reasons to return home, such as an employer’s letter, immediate family at home, or a house or other major assets.
  • Translations and accuracy. Non-English documents must be translated into English, and Home Affairs asks that documents and information be genuine, verifiable and unaltered (providing accurate information).

For plain-language checklists, see Australia visitor visa documents required and the Australia visitor visa supporting documents page.

IF YOUR APPLICATION WAS REFUSED

If your application was refused: what to look for in the letter

If an earlier Australian application with host support was refused, Home Affairs says it will tell you in writing why, and whether you have a right to a review of the decision (see that wording). Check whether the notice is about the requirement to be a genuine visitor or about having enough money, and set each reason beside both the host’s evidence and your own. The wording guide carries only Home Affairs’ own published wording for Australia, and the Australia visitor visa refusal reasons page explains how the usual grounds are read.

Have a refusal letter in front of you? Clients email their documents, and the review takes place by video call, phone call or in person at the Vadodara office. There is no charge for the review of a refusal: IndoWorld experts read the letter and compare it with the application that was refused. You can start on the visitor / tourist visa refusal letter review page.
