The calculation and its supporting records were assembled and checked against IRCC’s published rules before submission.

WHAT THIS DEMONSTRATES

What This Case Demonstrates

An alternative calculation is not automatically available to every family. Eligibility for it, and the evidence it needs, have to be verified under the rules IRCC currently publishes rather than taken from an older summary.

IndoWorld’s guidance follows the guidelines IRCC publishes on its website; the decision on every application rests with IRCC. A calculation is explained to the family in plain terms, including when the figures fall short, and nothing here is a promise of approval. The IndoWorld Evidence Integrity Framework describes how figures and documents are kept consistent.

OFFICIAL GUIDANCE

What the official guidance says an applicant like this must show

This is general guidance from IRCC on the two ways a host can show the minimum necessary income for a Super Visa. It does not describe the case above.

  • IRCC describes two ways. Step 2 of the proof of financial support page says the host can prove the income requirement in 1 of 2 ways, so the first question is which option fits the family.
  • Option 1 uses two tax years. The host’s total income, including a co-signer’s where applicable, must meet or exceed the minimum in either of the 2 tax years before the application, shown by the Canada Revenue Agency notice of assessment.
  • Option 2 starts at 75%. The host’s total income in the year before the application must be at least 75% of the minimum, and the applicant may add their own income to cover the remainder, so that the combined amount meets or exceeds the minimum.
  • The applicant’s income needs its own proof. The page lists pay stubs for the most recent 12 months, an original employer letter, bank statements and pension or rental documents, and says the applicant must prove income that continues while in Canada, with the currency shown.
  • Start from the family size. The minimum depends on the family size count in Step 1, and the table on the same page is the one to use, because it is the version IRCC currently publishes.
  • The letter must carry the proof. The forms and documents page says the host’s letter of invitation must include proof of the minimum necessary income and the list and number of people counted.

IF YOUR APPLICATION WAS REFUSED

If your application was refused: what to look for in the letter

If a Super Visa notice raises funds, find out first which income option the file relied on. A line that the applicant has not submitted enough documents to show access to sufficient funds, or that the assets and financial situation are insufficient, should be compared with the documents that match the chosen option: the notice of assessment under Option 1, or the 75% evidence plus the applicant’s own income records under Option 2. The Canada visitor visa refusal reasons page explains the usual funds grounds.

Have a refusal letter in front of you? Clients email their documents, and the review takes place by video call, phone call or in person at the Vadodara office. There is no charge for the review of a refusal: IndoWorld experts read the letter and compare it with the application that was refused. You can start on the visitor / tourist visa refusal letter review page.
