This case study describes the type of application work handled by IndoWorld and the preparation approach used, without disclosing personally identifying information or a specific visa decision.
At a Glance
The Applicant’s Situation
The applicant owned a business and had previously applied for a UK visitor visa, with the prior correspondence citing insufficient evidence of financial standing.
What the Assessment Identified
Reviewing the prior correspondence alongside the earlier application showed that financial evidence had been thin and not clearly connected to the applicant’s business.
Key Focus of This Case
Rebuilding the financial evidence so it clearly and specifically supported the applicant’s stated financial position.
What IndoWorld Actually Did
- Reviewed the prior correspondence in detail
- Reassessed and reorganized business and personal financial evidence
- Prepared a cover letter directly addressing the concerns raised previously
- Reviewed the new application against the earlier one for consistency
Evidence and Documentation Considered
- Business income and bank records
- Prior application correspondence
- Updated financial evidence
Where This Case Reached
The reapplication was prepared and submitted for decision.
What This Case Demonstrates
This case shows why financial evidence concerns usually call for clearer presentation of existing finances rather than assuming the applicant lacks sufficient funds. See the IndoWorld Refusal-to-Remedy Framework for more on this reasoning.

What the official guidance says an applicant like this must show
This is general guidance from official UK government sources for a business owner applying again for a UK Standard Visitor visa (the visitor / tourist visa) after an earlier application was questioned on financial standing. It is not a description of the case above or of why any earlier decision was made.
- The funds rule. Appendix V (V 4.2(e)) requires sufficient funds to cover all reasonable costs of the visit without working or using public funds, including the return or onward journey and any costs for dependants, and any funds relied on must be held in a financial institution permitted under Appendix Finance.
- There is no fixed amount. The caseworker guidance says there is no set level. Income or savings, minus financial commitments such as rent or mortgage and dependants supported, must cover the likely costs and be reasonable expenditure in light of the applicant’s circumstances.
- Evidence of the business and of the money. The supporting documents guide gives business registration documents or recent invoices that confirm on-going self-employment as examples, together with bank statements that detail the origin of the funds held.
- Form and evidence should correspond. The caseworker guidance expects a correlation between what is declared on the form (income, large deposits, support from family or friends) and the documents provided, and says undeclared third-party support that cannot be shown to be genuinely the applicant’s is not counted.
- Previous applications are part of the picture. Among the assessment factors the guidance lists previous immigration history, and among its reasons for doubt an earlier attempt to deceive the Home Office. Statements to the Home Office should be consistent from one application to the next.
- Recent documents only. The supporting documents guide lists bank statements or letters issued more than a year before the application among documents it says are less useful.

If your application was refused: what to look for in the letter
When the earlier refusal was about money, the notice may contain a sentence such as the overall statement does not match your declared income and spending, a comment on whether you are a signatory to the account relied on, or that statements do not demonstrate the origin of funds. For a business owner those three points call for different papers: personal statements, business account records and proof of authority over the account. Read the letter for which one it names before choosing what to add. The UK visitor visa refusal reasons page lists the usual grounds.
