APPLICANT SITUATION

The Applicant’s Situation

The applicant worked in a skilled occupation and wanted to assess and prepare an Express Entry profile for Canadian permanent residency.

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

What the Assessment Identified

The initial review found that the applicant’s language test scores, education assessment, and work experience needed to be organized consistently before calculating a reliable CRS score.

FOCUS AREA

Key Focus of This Case

Organizing language, education, and work-experience evidence so the CRS score genuinely reflected the applicant’s profile.

CASE-HANDLING WORK

What IndoWorld Actually Did

  • Reviewed language test results and education credential assessment
  • Cross-checked work experience records against the claimed occupation
  • Calculated and reviewed the Comprehensive Ranking System score
  • Prepared the Express Entry profile for submission to the pool
EVIDENCE CONSIDERED

Evidence and Documentation Considered

  • Language test results
  • Educational credential assessment
  • Employment reference letters
PROCESS STAGE

Where This Case Reached

This representative case does not state a CRS score, an invitation to apply or a decision outcome. It describes the profile-preparation work shown above.

WHAT THIS ILLUSTRATES

What This Case Illustrates

This case illustrates why a CRS score is only reliable when every underlying document — language, education, and experience — has been checked for consistency first. See the IndoWorld Evidence Integrity Framework for more on this reasoning.

LIMITS OF THIS CASE

What This Case Does Not Prove

This is a representative, anonymized case, not a record of a real client file or a real client experience. It is not evidence of approval probability or a success rate, and it is not a guarantee of any outcome for another applicant. Invitations, nominations and permanent residence decisions are made by IRCC or the province or territory concerned, and each application is assessed on its own facts and evidence.

  • It does not show any particular CRS score, or that any score will be high enough for an invitation to apply.
  • It does not show that organizing documents changes the points a profile earns. Points are awarded on the evidence provided and the official criteria.

OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS

What the official guidance says an applicant like this must show

These points summarise what IRCC’s own Express Entry pages say a skilled professional needs in order before a profile and its CRS score can be relied on. They are general guidance from official pages, not a description of any real file.

  • Language results. IRCC accepts results from named tests (CELPIP-General, IELTS General Training, PTE Core, TEF Canada and TCF Canada). The results must be less than two years old when the profile is completed and again when the application is submitted. IRCC: language test results ↗
  • Education. Education completed outside Canada needs an educational credential assessment from an organization IRCC has designated. The report and its reference number go into the profile, and the report must be less than five years old at both stages. IRCC: educational credential assessment ↗
  • Work experience. For the Federal Skilled Worker Program the work must be skilled (TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3), match the NOC chosen as the primary occupation, fall within the last 10 years, be paid, and total at least one year continuous or 1,560 hours. IRCC: Federal Skilled Worker Program ↗ An employer reference or experience letter is one of the proofs IRCC lists. IRCC: documents to have ready ↗
  • A complete, accurate profile. Entering the pool does not guarantee an invitation, and IRCC states that false information or leaving out important details can lead to refusal, inadmissibility and a five-year bar. IRCC: create your profile ↗
IF AN APPLICATION WAS REFUSED

If your application was refused – what to look for in the letter

Express Entry does not issue a visa-style refusal when a profile is entered, but a permanent residence application can be refused or rejected after an invitation. IRCC says an incomplete application is rejected and the fees are refunded, and that anyone refused or rejected who wants to be considered again must submit a new profile (IRCC: after you apply ↗). When a letter arrives, look first for whether the stated reason concerns eligibility (language, education, work experience) or admissibility (medical, police certificates, background checks), because the two call for different corrections. The Canada PR FAQs and the page on Canada PR refusal and misrepresentation explain common reasons, and any earlier visa refusal of yours, for any country, belongs in the forms wherever they ask about it.

Have a refusal letter in front of you?

If an earlier application of yours was refused, or an Express Entry application has been refused or rejected, you can email the letter and the application documents to IndoWorld. IndoWorld experts read the letter and compare it with the application that was refused. The review can be done by video call, phone call or in person at the Vadodara office, and there is no charge for the review of a refusal. Get your refusal letter reviewed.

SOURCE TRANSPARENCY

Official Source

This case relates to requirements set by IRCC — Express Entry. IndoWorld’s role is practical preparation and guidance; visa and immigration decisions are made solely by the relevant government authority.

IRCC provides an official tool for checking a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Express Entry invitations are issued in rounds to candidates ranked by points, so a score does not guarantee an invitation.
