INITIAL ASSESSMENT

What the Assessment Identified

Each parent’s finances and personal circumstances were reviewed alongside the host’s household size, income evidence and support arrangements.

FOCUS AREA

Key Focus of This Case

Explaining their individual circumstances without confusing the host’s eligibility with the support arrangements.

CASE-HANDLING WORK

What IndoWorld Actually Did

  • Organised documents for each parent separately
  • Did not assume the two parents had identical income sources
  • Kept the host’s eligibility evidence distinct from the support arrangements
EVIDENCE CONSIDERED

Evidence and Documentation Considered

  • Each parent’s own financial records
  • The host’s household size and income evidence
  • The support arrangements
PROCESS STAGE

Where This Case Reached

Each parent’s documents and the host’s evidence were organised and checked before the file was sent to IRCC for decision.

WHAT THIS DEMONSTRATES

What This Case Demonstrates

Parents travelling together can have different financial circumstances. Each parent’s position is assessed accurately, and the host’s eligibility is calculated correctly on its own terms.

IndoWorld’s guidance follows the guidelines IRCC publishes on its website; the decision on every application rests with IRCC. A family is given an honest read of how the two sets of records fit together, and no outcome is promised. See the Canada visitor visa vs Super Visa guide if a shorter visit is under consideration for one parent.

OFFICIAL GUIDANCE

What the official guidance says an applicant like this must show

This is general guidance from IRCC for two parents with different incomes applying for a Super Visa. It does not describe the case above.

  • Both applicants are counted. The family size count on the proof of financial support page includes the applicant and any other Super Visa applicants the host will support, so two parents add two to the household figure.
  • The host carries the income test. The page asks the host to prove the minimum necessary income; an applicant’s own income is an optional addition under Option 2, which also requires the host’s income to reach at least 75% of the minimum.
  • Income is documented by type. For an applicant who adds income, IRCC lists pay stubs, an employer letter, bank statements, and pension or rental documents as documents the applicant can submit. They matter when the applicant’s income is being added; they are not a substitute for the host’s own income proof.
  • Each parent is named in the letter. The host’s letter of invitation lists the people counted with each name and date of birth.
  • Relationship proof for each. IRCC asks for the host’s birth or baptismal certificate, or another official document naming the applicant as the host’s parent or grandparent.
  • Insurance and exam apply to each applicant. The insurance rules refer to the applicant’s health care, and IRCC’s medical page says Super Visa applicants need an exam.

IF YOUR APPLICATION WAS REFUSED

If your application was refused: what to look for in the letter

One line in a refusal can cover two people. The wording that the applicant’s assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for themselves (and any accompanying family member) should be checked for each parent and for the host’s side separately. A line that the applicant has not submitted enough documents to show access to sufficient funds can be matched to the records actually uploaded for each parent. The refusal reasons guide explains the usual funds grounds.

Have a refusal letter in front of you? IndoWorld experts read it and compare it with the application that was refused. Documents are sent by email, the review is held by video call, phone call or at the Vadodara office, and there is no charge for the review of a refusal. Start from the refusal letter review page.
