Germany Opportunity Card Consultant in Surat
Points-based eligibility assessment and application support for Surat professionals exploring Germany’s job-seeker Opportunity Card.
When the Family Business Is Part of Your Opportunity Card Story
A large share of the Surat enquiries we handle come from graduates whose working life is tied to a family firm in textiles, yarn, diamonds or trading. That background shapes an Opportunity Card application in two places: how your work experience is proved, and how the money for your stay is shown. Neither is a problem in itself, but both need more care than a salaried applicant’s file.
IndoWorld Visa and Education Services is based in Vadodara and works with Surat applicants remotely by phone, video and WhatsApp, using courier only when originals are needed. For the programme itself, see our Germany Opportunity Card guide; for how we help applicants elsewhere in the state, see the Gujarat Opportunity Card page. For biometrics centres, police certificates and other steps when you apply from Gujarat, see our guide: Applying for a visa from Gujarat.
Why a Points Figure From a Forum Is Not Enough
Surat applicants often arrive with a score someone else worked out: a friend who applied earlier, a video, a forum thread. Those figures are frequently wrong for your case, either because they describe someone else’s profile or because they ignore which route applies at all.
We check each point you are counting against the criteria German missions publish today, not against what worked for someone two years ago. You can try the numbers yourself with our points calculator, and our eligibility guide explains each route in more depth.
Proving Work in a Family Firm
Experience points depend on work related to your qualification: two or more years within the last five earns 2 points, and five or more within the last seven earns 3. A textile engineer working in the production side of a family mill may well qualify. A chemical engineering graduate who has spent four years on sales and collections for the family’s trading business probably will not, however hard the work was.
Family firms rarely issue formal HR paperwork, so the evidence has to be assembled deliberately. Useful records include an appointment or experience letter on the firm’s letterhead signed by an authorised partner or director, salary credits in your bank account, income tax returns showing salary from the firm, and where applicable provident fund records. The letter should describe your actual duties; a generic line saying you ‘looked after the business’ does little for a points assessment.
If your honest role was mostly unrelated to your degree, we would rather tell you now. Sometimes recognition, German language points or a spouse’s application can close the gap instead; sometimes the right answer is to wait, as our Evidence Integrity Framework explains.
Showing Funds When the Money Comes From the Business
You must show that you can cover your living costs in Germany. German mission checklists in 2026 set this at EUR 1,091 per month, or EUR 13,092 for a full year; confirm the current figure just before you transfer. The usual proof is a blocked account (Sperrkonto) in your name, though a formal obligation (Verpflichtungserklärung) or another form listed by the mission may be accepted.
Where parents or the family business are paying, the money should travel a clear path: from an identifiable account, by bank transfer, into the accepted form of proof. Large cash deposits made just before the transfer, or funds routed through several relatives, raise questions that are hard to answer later. Our financial means case shows the kind of preparation involved, and our article on common financial misconceptions covers mistakes we see repeatedly.

Working With Us From Surat
German Certificate or English Certificate?
On the points route you need German at A1 or English at B2, and one or the other is enough. After that, a language certificate is a cost-benefit question. German B1 earns 2 points and B2 earns 3, while English C1 adds just 1. If you already have 6 points, a further certificate may not change eligibility at all, though German will matter in interviews. If you are one point short, an A2 German exam could be the cheapest fix. Timing matters as much as level, as our language certificate planning case shows. We tell you plainly which choice is worth the time and fees.
What You Can and Cannot Do on the Card
The card does not come with a job, and it is designed for finding employment, not for running the family business from Germany. Most people aim to switch to a skilled-worker permit or an EU Blue Card after signing a contract. Surat readers can also find our wider services on the Surat visa consultant page and Surat immigration page.
